Go“Like us†pls … (Note the PASASA - Power Assisted Soaring Association of South Africa - websitewill be up soonest)Yip - we are alive and well! it took 7 agonizing years (Promulgated 2012 May) -to get TMG set-up as an independent category in South Africa under - CARS(Civil aviation Regulations 2011) Part 62 (Recreation aviation) NPL (NationalPilots License) - Sub Part 17 TMF (Touring Motor Glider) !!! The problem was - TMG were under the auspice of the SSSA Soaring Society - andhandled as Stepchildren - nor remotely receiving the attention and developmentit deserved and required ... where accessibility / intro barrier – and operations are / were sofar removed from general aviation that the average pilot simply could notparticipate sensibly. … We PASASA – intend to promote and grow T M G (TouringMotor Glider) – and PAS (Power Assisted Soaring) - as the pinnacle of recreationaviation / category / discipline – as it deserves! We intend lobbying ICAO toget a proper international standing / discipline for TMG (similar to Gliders,etc al). Proper event / competition rules – based on efficiency index “EIâ€. The first ATO (Air training Organization) / Flight School(of 420 odd in SA) was certified less than a month ago. Compiling syllabus,flight training manuals, etc – was quite a job! … We are making progress! We have a LOT ofeducation to do – in our general flyining / aviation community in SA!Any help / assistance – MORE THAN WELCOME!
