Steve Sliwa
Here is an excerpt of a note I received from John Chapman:I attach a picture taken I suppose from a coastguard boat, of a US registered Grob off the coast of the US. It illustrates that a grob pilot doesn't get wet above the ankles. I do not know the provenance of this picture, though I got it from the UK repair agent for Grob, who successfully repaired an English example which ditched in the English Channel, and had it flying again six months later. I don't know the ownership of the copyright, but it might be an interesting addition to the website, as it illustrates a safety aspect of motor gliding. The registration is visible on the picture, and so I imagine that the owner would be traceable.
