Gfeldman
I have owned my Phoenix only a short time and am flying it without the wingtip extensions to get a feel for its flight characteristics. Once I start inserting the extensions is it necessary to use a lubricant like lithium grease? The tolerances look to be very close. What is the best way to clean the socket of dust and dirt? Martin Stepanek
Hello dear friend, you are right - we use grease. Simply clear the pins with fabric and put just a very thin film of grease. Too much grease is not better - it works like a "glue" for dust and small stones. I only don´t know "lithium grease" - but from Google pictures looks OK. Just don´t use "graphite grease" - I personally use "common" grease I bought on fuel station :-) Best regards! edwalker
Hi, George - This might be helpful. I had similar concerns a while back. http://www.motorgliders.org/forums/topic/459-lithium-grease-university/ ed
