MFPrice
Somebody (probably in the U.K.) had the tail wheel mounting bracket bolt fail due to corrosion, resulting in the loss of rudder during flight. The AD effective date is 31 May 17, and requires the inspection of the tailwheel mounting bracket bolt within 3 months of the effective date of the AD or 100 hours after the effective date of the AD...WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. The AD requires the removal of the rudder and the rudder drive rod from the rear lever, as well as the rear lever and pull springs (basically disassembling the mounting bracket) in order to inspect for corrupt or brush marks. If found then the bolt has to be replaced, which will be a major pain in the butt, since it is glued and welded in place. Might be better to replace the bracket if you can find one... This process has to be repeated every 100 flight hours or 12 months (annual), whichever comes first.
