How to secure Grob to a trailer

Vic

Recommended Posts

Hello all.  I just got a 109B 😀. I may have to trailer it and need help with how to tie down and support wings, fuse, tail. I hope Grob can supply templates/design for the support frames.

Does anyone have any design details and dimensions of how to support the wing spar?  How high would the support need to be so the leading edge doesn't sit on the trailer?

Any help would be very much appreciated.  If I get templates from Grob Ill post them here.

The wings just need to be suported enough to no scratch things. I used mattresses as pading. I also tied them to the inner walls of a 26 foot U haul.
be carefull of the pitot tube.

The fuselage was easy. with no wheels it rode on a mattress. with wheels it was easier. just tie it down.

Thanks Bill. Did you have the wings laid down flat. The flight manual refers to supporting them at the wing spar and at the aileron - presumably with the wings vertically.

Thanks for the photo.  Is that a 1/2ton pickup you're pulling it with?
