A post by Michael Coates in the TMGA Pipistrel Forum on January 8th told of Matevz Lenarcic leaving Slovenia to fly westbound around the world in a Pipistrel Virus. Among his stops, including the Antarctic, the AOPA Newsletter just posted his latest arrival in New Zealand:

  • Glider pilot stops in New Zealand on world tour
Glider pilot Matevz Lenarcic landed in New Zealand as part of a world tour in his motor glider. Lenarcic, who left from Slovenia on Jan. 8, landed at Tauranga Airport in his Pipistrel Sinus motor glider. Lenarcic will continue his around-the-world journey by flying next to Invercargill and then to Canberra, Australia. Bay of Plenty Times (New Zealand)
