My mechanic has made multiple attempts to bleed the brakes on my Taifun 17E/80hp. He says he can't get the air out and doesn't understand why. Has anyone experienced this and can anyone suggest how to deal with it?

Finbar,
You can't usually bleed the brakes from the top.
Best is to inject fluid at the nipple on the main wheel using a hypodermic and have a helper removing excess from the
master cylinder when it gets over full. That way you push the air bubbles up hill, rather than trying to push them down hill.
Should be quite quick that way.
Regards
Dave

TRY PULLING THE LINES IN THE WHEEL WELLS DOWN A BIT TO LET THE AIR BUBBLES AT THE TOP TO GO THROUGH TO THE CYLINDER. A PRESSURE POT WILL HELP AS A LOT OF PRESSURE IS NEEDED TO MOVE THE BUBBLES OUT OF THE LINE TOM

Easy to do. Rig up a hand squeeze pump to push the brake fluid into the system from the brake caliper bleed screw. connect a tube from the pump to the bleed screw knob, loosen the screw then pump, close the screw between pumps, do this slowly to avoid squirting fluid up out of the master cylinder. Put a small baffle in the master cylinder to help prevent this squirting. This way all the air bubbles will be driven UPWARDS thru all the brake lines. I do this by myself, but two guys will make it easier.
