Barry.h Posted October 17, 2023 Report Posted October 17, 2023 The bucket list item for Motorglider pilots in Australia is to fly the Morning Glory. I have recently returned from my first Morning Glory trip in my Phoenix and was lucky enough to get 3 clouds on 3 consecutive days. An amazing experience. The local news weatherman gave a very good overview of what the Glory is about: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1020640395753694 We were based in Burketown along with 2 Stemme, a few Pipistrel, some Dimonas and few Grob. I have started a Youtube channel with some of my exploits - starting with a flight through the eye of a solar eclispe in April - www.youtube.com/@flightsofthephoenix The video of the first wave cloud is here - if you subscribe you will get the updates to follow of our other 2 flights. While I have ticked the item off - I certainly have the bug and will be back for more. Barry Phoenix #21 in Australia Quote

Jason Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 Hi Barry, I just left a similar comment on one of your YouTube videos. I am not sure of the best way to contact you- so I am trying in various ways. Short of it: I’m working on a narrated YouTube video about rare weather phenomena. I found your footage of surfing the Morning Glory cloud. It's by far the best video I have seen (I have been researching this intensively). Would you be open to letting me use a short excerpt — likely around 3–8 seconds — in the video? I would credit you clearly on screen and in the description, and I’d use the clip in an educational/commentary context while explaining what makes the Morning Glory cloud so unusual. The video would be for a new YouTube channel, and I’m trying to do this properly rather than just reuse footage without permission. If you have specific credit wording, link placement, or licensing terms you’d want me to follow, I’d be happy to include them. Thanks, Jason Feel free to text or email me!
