    FAA Description of Airworthiness Concern:
The Brazilian Airworthiness Authority, Departamento de Aviação Civil (DAC)
has issued Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2004-11-05,
effective November 29, 2004 against the following Aeromot-Industria models
listed below. This AD calls for the inspection and
replacement of the nut and bolt installed on each main landing gear torque
link. Aeromot has issued Service Bulletin 200-32-100,
    which details the maintenance procedures.
    Model Affected Serial Numbers
    AMT-100 100.001 to 100.003, 100.005 to 100.015, 100.017, 100.019, 100.022 to
    100.039, 100.041 to
    100.044
    AMT-100 modified to AMT-200 100.004, 100.016, 100.018, 100.020 and 100.021
    AMT-200 200.040, 200.045 to 200.105, 200.108 to 200.111, 200.113 to 200.118,
    200.121
    AMT-200S 200.119, 200.122 to 200.124, 200.126 to 200.155
    Amt-300 300.106, 300.107, 300.115 and 300.125
On one occurrence during a landing, a critical fastener (nut) within the
main landing gear assembly became loose resulting in rotation
of the movable leg and damage to the landing gear structure. The nut, P/N
5PA-108, installed at the torque link, connects the movable
leg to the fixed strut of the main landing gear. For the modification,
Aeromot has prescribed a different fastener assembly. Currently,
53 total units of the specified models are listed on the U.S. registry.
The FAA is proposing an Airworthiness Directive to address this issue. The
initial Risk Assessment for this concern indicates a
Notice of Proposed Rulemaking may be considered.
A copy of the Aeromot Service Bulletin, FAA Risk Assessment, and the DAC AD
    are electronically attached.
Please provide your comments on this airworthiness concern and address any
other issues (i.e., technical, cost of compliance) that you
    deem appropriate to this matter.
