    Dear Jim,

As a fellow pilot, may I congratulate you on your tremendous effort in the
    Kittyhawk race.

I was surprised to read in the newspaper article that you are not a comp
pilot, so such an effort is even more impressive. Apart from many positives,
it must have also been very so often frustrating, stressful, difficult and
    daunting. And exhausting.

It would have been very hard work in the weak conditions, and as a
low-airtime pilot, the decision "to restart, or not restart" is one that
takes careful decision making and good flying skills in the engine warm-up
period. Adding the pressure of the competition would of course amplify this
dilemma and must have made for some "interesting" low saves.

Thus, your success in the points ladder shows a job very well done and I
hope that you are very proud.

Personally, I am glad to see that you beat the pants off the Dimona and a
    Stemme
(? S10 VT ), as we all know what a lovely Fournier wing we have.
-Not forgetting the pilot's input of course...

So to yourself and your support crew, a big Congratulations!!! from
    Australia!

    Warmest Regards,

    Sandra Mitchell.
