Owners and Other Interested People,
I don't know how the rumor about Aeromot's demise got started up again. It
went around last year too. There is an Aeromot- Chinese JV that has been
several years in the process. However, that has not changed the way Ximango USA
does business with Aeromot. We currently have a new Ximango (100hp, glass
panel) in final assembly in Porto Alegre and are routinely ordering parts to be
shipped to North America.
I do, however, think the English-language Service Bulletin web service needs
rejuvenation and will speak to them about that.

Greetings!
I am saddened to hear that Ximango is going out of business in Aeromot,

I do remember a chatter in the past emails that Chinese may be starting a

chatter.

Well...after a decade, I've got to replace my Garmin 195. The computer's OK,

I'll really miss it. It did the job just fine and mounted mounted so
beautifully on the panel: a slight mod to the mounting bracket, and it fit perfectly
over two vertical far left spaces.?

I've been thinking about a 296, but not sure where it'll fit. Also if you

My friends, Chuck...
Death or demise is too strong a word. Let's just saying sleeping, or
on hiatus.
I believe this when I tried to find something, anything, on the web
to suggest that Aeromot still actively makes Ximangos. There used to
be a website, but now, nada. Their former site, http://
www.ximango.com.br is gone.
I also see no mention now of the a/c on Aeromot's own site, which
once listed the Ximango as one of their products. From these two
absences, one could reasonably infer that production of the line is
at least on hiatus.
That said, it'd wonderful that parts continue to be available, and
that the value of the a/c now in service will not be affected. Still,
their silence seems to point up the value of finding local sourcing
of parts and services.
I understand how it might not be in the company's best interest to
announce a pulling back, if indeed there has been one. But lacking
evidence to the contrary, this appears to be the truth. (My theory is
that the price tag is too steep to compete with the LSAs.)
As a journalist, as well as a pilot, I have this persistent if
annoying fondness for the unvarnished truth ;->.

It's interesting how we now make observations about people's =20
commitment based upon their investment in the web. <g>
Hopefully, we can get them to re-prioritize and re-energize their web =20=
activities. It looks to me like "Aeromot Aeronaves e Motores S/=20
A" (maintenance and distributor) has taken over the base website and =20
"Aeromot Ind=FAstria Mec=E2nico-Metal=FArgica Ltda." has given up its =
web =20
presence, even though it appears to be the biggest part (contract =20
manufacturing) of Aeromot.
It's probably a Catch-22 proposition. If you are only selling a few =20
Ximango's a year it is tough to invest in marketing on the web. On =20
the other hand, if you don't invest in marketing you can' grow your =20
sales.

y'know I'd agree with you that web-marketing isn't entirely =20
indicative, if the company had not redesigned all their webstuff, and =20=
left out ximango. And that they let the ximango domain name die =20
entirely.
