i remember a thread about correcting the bird's built-in high speed
roll which involved assembly/disassembly. (i taped down a length of
light nylon line on the upper surface of the aileron.)
otherwise: the folks who get their planes shipped abroad might know
about putting the wings back on.

Hi Everyone,
I've landed my Ximango out and the field is too soft for takeoff.
Any tips for tools, dissasembly and transport?
Cheers,

there might be some old posts on XOG. you can do a search on keywords.

finally, anyone who's completed the recommended disassembly at 5 years
to do an annual. (anyone?... anyone?)
one tip (ask roland martin about this); be sure to install the fuel
lines *very* carefully. it's a nasty turn they have to make.

One question I have: since you've got an engine, why did you land out?
sounds like an interesting story.

As it turns out I had a bad cell in the 5(?) year old battery. It hadn't
flown for a little over a month as I've been flying "pure" gliders. Started
up fine initially but there was only about 10 minutes until inflight
shutdown so I guess it didn't recover enough charge to start again and I was
too low to risk trying the diving start and do a final field selection.
(memo to self!) The field had just been cultivated and planted that morning,
and since they haven't had any significant rain in months, the sandy loam
seemed like 3" of dust.
I had a a call from Roland and got some great tips. Planning to move it
Friday, so I'll let you know how it goes next week .
Cheers,
Greg

When did the low voltage warning light alert you (if ever) that you
didn't have enough voltage?
Did you land out with your gear down?
How low is your diving restart limit? (Mine is 2500 ft.)
Thanks for the info,
Bruce

Dear Greg
When we bought our plane I went to the factory and went on a quick course in
assembly and dissemble.
Put the plane together in Durban before flying it home.
Had an accident on takeoff and had to dissemble it, fix including new wings,
and assemble again.
If you require any info please contact me at
benbehm@telkomsa.set
Fairly easy
