Thread Title : Cost to rebuild 10-y-old carbs
$890 to rebuild two carbs sounds like a lot of money to me. Is that a fair rate?

My experiece with the Bing carb is limited to the experimental side thus far. I've noticed that parts for the non-certified Bing, like jets and the floats, are quite expensive. Bing had a problem with some of their floats a while back. They were foam covered in varnish and they tended to get fuel soaked. Bing has since replaced the old style floats with a molded plastic version and they ain't cheap.
Depending on what was involved with rebuilding your carbs, I could easily see it going that high, especially for certified parts and especially with the exchange rate with the Euro so upside down like it is now.
