Registered No longer active on TMGA Posted April 2, 2013 Registered Report Posted April 2, 2013 "In Greek mythology, a phoenix or phenix (Ancient Greek φοίνιξ phóinīx) is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn." - WikipediaIn less grand terms, this announces the move of the Phoenixair U-15 Owners Group from it's original website to the TMGA community. We think this will improve the interaction among it's own members and provide a better "platform" for sharing experiences, advice, documents, and pictures, and make it easier to do the same with pilots of similar gliders. There are currently 17 members, owning about 15 Phoenix U15 motorgliders (aka "Phoenix"). Serial numbers 19 & 20 are on a ship heading for delivery to the dealer's hangar in Florida for final equipment installation, licensing, and final testing before the owners take delivery. Orders are up to at least SN 27 (that's mine!), due late this year. A small group, but growing about 10 to 12 gliders a year. Quote
Registered No longer active on TMGA Posted April 6, 2013 Author Registered Report Posted April 6, 2013 I've moved documents and an article from the original Phoenix site to TMGA. A little confusing at first in the Knowledgebase/Downloads area, but it's OK now! Quote
Don Boardman Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Hi Eric, I've taken delivery of my Phoenix #19. After Jim Lee brought me up to speed, in this fantastic machine, I left Melbourne FL for Aguila AZ (70 mi NW of Phoenix) on May 1. May 5th saw the last leg of my weather delayed journey. It started in Lufkin Tx KLFK. I arrived at Sampley 28AZ in Aguila just before sunset, 11.5 hours later with one 24 gal fuel stop in Las Cruces, NM KLRU. My ship is now back in Rome, NY after it's maiden journey of 2600 miles housed in it's new trailer. Jim told me about the owners group. I am glad to see that it has been reborn. The TMGA site is a great place for it to rise again. Will you please let me know how I can get on the roster. donboardman@yahoo.com Quote
Registered No longer active on TMGA Posted June 8, 2013 Author Registered Report Posted June 8, 2013 Hi Don, I'm curious about your trip from Aguila to Rome. Did you fly or trailer that? And can you post a couple pictures of your trailer? A few are somewhat interested, or at least looking for ideas; e.g., my wife and I would like to combine motorhome and Phoenix trips, but don't want to have one flying the other driving.By "getting on the roster", I assume you mean the Phoenix roster. We haven't set up a roster yet, so the only formal thing is your roster entry for the TMGA. This site does have a mechanism for sub-groups, but I haven't looked at it carefully yet. Quote
Don Boardman Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Hi Eric, just back to the form tonight to chat about Minden and stopped by here. It is late and I am a little blurry eyed. I will put something together on the trailer and get it out to the group, hopefully tomorrow. Quote
Don Boardman Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Eric, I did not have any luck with creating an Album. Kept getting the message I had exceeded my allowed album KB size ??? The files were under 100 KB so I really didn't get it. Anyway no time to troubleshoot. Instead I uploaded pictures to the Gallery section under Phoenix motorglider. You can see the pictures of the trailer there. Quote
Registered No longer active on TMGA Posted June 21, 2013 Author Registered Report Posted June 21, 2013 I've started a new thread, "A trailer for Phoenix", where it will be easier for people to find the discussion about Don's trailer and trailers in general. It has the above info from Don, lnks to his pictures, and a couple questions for Don. Quote
