Hey Guys

Does anyone out there use Clearnav with your Phoenix. If so could you share the #'s that you input into the Clearnav on it's Polar Page? What I am looking for is Ballast in Liters, Unballasted weight in KG, Best Glide, Best Glide speed in kph and 2m/s sink speed in kph. Any input would be appreciated Fred Donaghy You can post here or email me at rhynehart@aol.com

Hi Fred, Jim Lee has the numbers, both 15 m and 11 m, I've used for my Phoenix. I'll send them to you directly as well. They seem to work pretty well. Perhaps the speed to fly on the Vario directs a bit too fast. Other than that ok though. Be sure to go to the Clear Nav web site and both read up and use their utility. Eric Greenwell has used the Clear Nav for quite a while. He helped me get going and could be a good reference. Good luck, Randy # 26

I finally remembered to see what I'm using on my ClearNav:

Ballast: 0 liters

Unballasted weight: 550 kg

Best glide: 28:1

Best glide speed: 95 kph

2 m/s sink: 155 kph

This seems to work out well during "e-soaring" (engine idling soaring), but not quite so well with engine-off soaring. My engine-off soaring is a fair amount less than the e-soaring, so I'm not too confident in my report's accuracy.
