I have been working on my brakes with a new line connection and had pulled the pilots seat to purge the brake lines with backpumping to the master when I discovered a iol/gas soiling of the carpet behind the seat. As I looked further I found the oil (blue) behind the other seat. I pulled everything and found the oil under the right seat compartment and the floor pannel.
I cleaned the entire area and have been working on other items in the aircraft to improve cockpit management (two or three days) and have not found any more blue dye oil except on the belly of the aircraft at what I had thought was a fuel tank vent hole. Now I am really confused.
I have read of the alert on the rodent attack of the fuel lines crossing or the line to the shut off valve and the engine compartment. I examined these carefully for damage and leaks and have fould none. I have also looked through all my documents for some drawings or hint of system design that could reveal this mystery without any success.
I have smelled fuel when first getting into the aircraft at times but nothing that would indicate a serious leak but now my concern is greater.
Has anyone traced the vent lines? Has anyone encountered a similar problem? I would appreciate any views on what may be happening.
