I finally dug into the problem and started tracing wires after completely l=
oosing the ability to transmit with the right stick.=A0 I quickly found a p=
roblem with one of the two wires from the PTT.

of those wires came out of a harness and was being pinched by the control =
system.=A0 The signal was being sent to ground as well as through the trans=
mit circuit, which I believe contributed to the squeal.=A0 Eventually this =
problem manifested itself into a complete "open", denying me any ability to=
transmit through the PTT on the right stick.=A0 I've recently removed this=
bad wire and replaced it with a new one which appears to have solved my pr=
oblem.=A0=20

Thank you for relaying your experiences. I've talked with a couple of ra=
dio shops and they both think that if I'm only getting the squeal on some=
freqs and not others that very likely it's not the radio but the install=
ation. The squeal occurs in the 118, 119 and the 129 range but doesn't o=
ccur other places. I'm working on it.
