  • Oil Pressure And Temperature, Gauge and Sensors.Vendor? - Oct 2008

    Ethan Graham

Both my oil pressure and temp gauges are not registering correctly.
The oil gauge has been registering low for a while; recently the temp
gage became erratic and now reads low.

    1. Can I assume that the sensors are at fault?

    2. Can these sensors be serviced?

    3. Where can you buy replacement sensors? Lockwood?

    Thanks, Bruce

I had a similar problem. Make sure the grounding wire are not loose at
the sensor and clean the contacts where the wires attach to the
instruments also using electric grease. This fixed my problem.=20

    Best regards

    Hi Bruce,

I had the same problem with my oil temp and pressure guage.  Just cleanin=
g the wire connections on the back of the guage solved my problem.

Here is the URL for all the installation and tech support instructions for
the gauges made by Westberg in Santa Clara.

    _http://www.westach.com/instructions/_ (http://www.westach.com/instructions/)

Go to the catalog and get the PN of the gauge you are researching, then  find
the instruction here.  Hope this helps.

One  other thing I forgot to mention.  I believe the guage manufacturer is
Westach out of Sonoma California, at least the fuel guages are.  They  have a
web site.  Aircraft Spruce carries the guages and sending  units.
