So... tell us all...What's your GPS?
How do you like it?
How does it fit into yr panel?
Can you recharge your GPS's batteries using the aircraft's system?
(If you have a foto, please upload it on another server, or send it
to me first and I'll upload it for you.)

Happy New Year, everyone. Have a happy and safe years!
Well...after a decade, I've got to replace my Garmin 195. The
computer's OK, but the screen is dying.
I'll really miss it. It did the job just fine and mounted mounted so
beautifully on the panel: a slight mod to the mounting bracket, and
it fit perfectly over two vertical far left spaces.
I've been thinking about a 296, but not sure where it'll fit. Also if
you can recharge from onboard power.

Bruce,
Greetings!
I am saddened to hear that Ximango is going out of business in Aeromot, Brazil. They through Chuck Cheeseman provided an excellent service.
I do remember a chatter in the past emails that Chinese may be starting a manufacturing plant in Asia. Is there are any factual basis or it is just idle chatter.

Hi Bruce.
I installed a 295 (Same size as 296?) in KIR I'll see if I can
send a photo. It fits below the radio and transponder. Looks as though it
was made for the position. There is no way to charge the standby batteries
as far as I am aware, but this hasn't been a problem. As a back up I have
an old Magellan 335 fitted on passenger side.
Can anybody shed some more light on the Ximango shutdown?
Paul H.
