Hey Earl,
What are the specs, what are your expectations?
And *what* are you going to fly?

Darn, the Ximango market is getting flooded. I have been thinking of
selling my AMT-200. It is Denis Michaud's former personal plane. I am in
no rush as I am flying it regularly but when I retire in a couple of years
I fear the overall costs of maintaining it including annuals, insurance,
hangar, and regular maintanance will be more than my reduced income will
handle then. Bill

With minimum marketing effort, I'm guessing you could fetch upwards
of $110-130 G for each of these a/c. The twins cachet of being an Air
Force trainer, its prototype hanging in France's national aerospace
museum; there's a fleet in place, an active owner's group; and you
don't have to get a medical. It's fun to fly and pretty dern
economical. And it's got awesome ramp appeal.
Arrange for glider training, since the biggest market will be current
plane owners. Talk about maintenance. They'll want to know there's a
factory that makes parts, with established procedures.
Speaking of parts, what news on the parts for the gear mod?

Bruce - I agree with all your comments about the joys of Ximango ownership,
but the parts situation is very hit and miss. If a prospective buyer asks
about the parts situation, one would have to say it can be a five-day turnaround,
or in the case of the recent SB, maybe a 4-month turnaround, although we still
don't know when or if the parts will arrive. It's not like owning a Cessna,
in fact it seems like it's the other end of the spectrum. I don't doubt that
Chuck acts promptly when we contact him with a need for parts, or that he gives
it his best effort to get the factory to respond. I'm just wondering if
there's an English-speaking factory liaison in Brazil who would respond faster to
direct contact from owners.

Hey Bruce,
Long time no chat.
I have retired from the wonderful world of retail and been traveling alot.
Lately I have been flying United. How has the world been treating you? My
ximango is a 1997 Engine TT 400hrs. What do you think is fair market value?
All opinions are welcomed.
Best regards,
Earl
